T-Mobile and Orange to test 100-channel mobile TV

T-Mobile and Orange will today announce a partnership to run a commercial trial in west London of a new mobile TV technology which could allow handset users to tune in to up to 100 channels.

I find this story very significant as there are always technological changes occurring and these changes may soon replace everyday activities. Watching programs for leisure has always been associated with sitting at home and watching everything you want to on your TV. If this technology proves successful, then it ultimately could replace what happens already. There are many possible problems that can arise from this. If people spend to much time on their mobiles, it could ultimately cause more cancer patients, and the eyes will be effected heavily. Also the latest technologies will ultimately also promote crime in a sense as there will be many people looking to possibly steal these phones as they will have very high market value.
However this will be beneficial in the sense that, it could educate people... those who watch the news. Also if someone is running late and possibly going to miss their favourite shows, they will not have to look any further than their mobile phones and also that journeys can be tedious and therefore can be made more enjoyable. Overall I think this is showing the giant strides that are always being made in technology and I think this will be a positive move on the whole as these major companies will be providing healthy competition and therefore we can expect to see even better comebacks from other companies.
